Any crisis in the Middle East both affects the countries of the region and forces the international system to react. In recent years, ISIS Islamic fundamentalism and their actions have affected the Middle East and the entire international system. Particularly, the Islamic Republic of Iran, due to its Shiite and non-Arab identity, is directly exposed to ISIS threats. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the emergence of the ISIS phenomenon on Iran's national security through an explanatory-analytical method. In this regard, the question arises as to how the Islamic fundamentalist of ISIS uprised in the Middle East has an impact on Iran's national security? So the hypothesis is that ISIS is a direct and serious threat to Iran's national security. These threats include the radicalization of the region through the Shiite-Sunni division, the threat of borders and the risk to territorial integrity, the imbalance of power in the region in favor of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel, and the presence of transnational powers such as the United States in the Middle East. In practice, during the years since the emergence of ISIS, in addition to weakening the Shiite governments of Syria and Iraq, threatening the borders of the Islamic Republic, and carrying out terrorist operations inside Iran, regional and transregional rivals of Iran, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United States, support extremist groups to weaken the the resistance axis.
