Demographic Analysis of Muslims in Contemporary World
1
This article primarily focuses on the methodological challenges associated with the religious identity of Muslims in the contemporary world. The litewrature review clearly indicates the fact that Muslims have been in forefront attention of a substantially growing body of studies in the more recent years. This article has highlighted the main socio-economic and demographic characteristics of Muslims both globally and regionally including the Islamic countries, Europe, the US and the Pasific. The underlying conclusion of this analysis emphasizes the key methodological strategy that as Muslims are substantially heterogeneous populations, their varying socio-economic contexts must be considered in our studies in order to avoid providing misleading knowledge. This methodological strategy tends to particulary apply to Muslims who are the world's fastest-growing population.

Since the emergence in Levant, including Iraq and Syria, ISIS Takfiri– Terrorist Group has claimed Khorasan Province (Afghanistan& some regions in central Asia) as part of its reign and by the way proclaimed its existence and identity under this title. The first issue about the presence of ISIS In Khorasan Province, especially in those of central Asia which this research focuses on, is that what are the main contexts of ISIS presence & influence in this region? What potentials and capacities does central Asia possess to give this extremist Group the opportunity of emergence? Temporary answer to this question as the hypothesis is that authoritarian and secular political structure, wrong approach and actions of regional governments in facing extremism, extremist fundamentalist groups in the region, volatile and complex social context in central Asian countries, critical geographic hot spots such as Fergana Valley and Afghanistan and presence of civilians of countries of the region in ISIS ranks are the most important factors which can lead to emergence of ISIS.
