Discourse analysis is an interdisciplinary field of study that has emerged in the context of postmodernist thought and following epistemological developments in the humanities and social sciences.In the 60s and 70s of the last century, the tendency to methodize the process of speech and writing production and study its structure and function increased.
Discourse analysis approaches are numerous and varied.In this article, researchers intend to analyze the political discourse and represent the formulation of this discourse by examining the televised debates of the candidates for the twelfth term of the Iranian presidency.In this research, the theory of Laclau and Mouffe discourse along with Fairclough discourse theory has been used as a research method.
The main question of this article is what are the components of the political discourse of the 11th government in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of domestic politics and what are its central sign and floating signs? Discourse analysis showed that the central signifier in the political discourse of this government was freedom and criticism, honesty of discourse, opposition to exclusivism, freedom of expression and detente; They make up its times. The present research is practical in nature and with a qualitative approach is the political discourse of the 11th government.
