The analysis shows the events related to the growth of mass violence in the contemporary Islamic world A significant part of these events is due to the actions of the takfir movement. Takfir is divided into two categories of formal and informal takfir based on its political origin.Formal takfir is when a government recognized by the Islamic world is claiming and declaring infidelity against a person or part of the Islamic community, and informal takfir is whenThis is a declaration of blasphemy by individuals or groups other than the official government The important point is that often, contemporary formal takfir is considered a reproduction of the idea of usurpation and contemporary informal takfir is a reproduction of the idea of foreignness.  However, the findings of this study show that both formal and informal takfir are more influenced by the legacy of oppression left over from the Umayyad era than by the Kharijite culture, although in practice contemporary formal takfir is closer to the Umayyads and contemporary informal takfir is closer to the Kharijites.
