In this research, while providing definitions for national identity and crisis of national identity, the story seeking forgiveness of Sadegh Hedayat was analyzed using Skinner's hermeneutic method. The result of the study shows that Sadegh Hedayat in this story by presenting a dark and black face of seeing and introducing religious people as criminal and ignorant people has caused the destruction of the religious aspect of the national identity and the views of this secular intellectual by using the tools of stories and stories have caused the creation of And the identity crisis has spread in Iranian society, and its continuation can be seen even today.
