Target: The zero to 15 degree belt of North Africa is one of the most controversial regions in the world. Fundamental and religious conflicts between followers of Islam and Christianity or between groups belonging to these religions and governments are one of the types of conflicts in this region. An important point in the study of conflicts is to pay attention to the roots of their occurrence, one of the dimensions of this issue is the geopolitical analysis of this type of conflict.
Target This study explains the roots of religious and sectarian strife in the zero to 15 degree North African belt from a geopolitical perspective.
Method: The research is of "theoretical basis" type and in terms of nature, it is a descriptive scientific research and in the method of "descriptive-analytical" attitude. Data collection was done by documentary method and using library resources. The research method is "qualitative" and for information analysis, "content analysis" and "content analysis" methods have been used.
Findings: An analysis of the roots of religious and sectarian strife in the African Zero to 15 Belt since the end of the Cold War (1991) shows In the occurrence of this type of conflict, the reciprocal mapping of the elements of "politics", "power" and "geography" and its consequences are obvious and the conflicts have a geopolitical nature.
Conclusion: Out of 29 countries in the zero to 15 degree North Africa belt, 21 countries are involved in all kinds of conflicts. In 7 countries, Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Uganda, the Central African Republic, Nigeria and Ivory Coast, 10 cases of "religious and religious conflicts" have occurred. And in progress. A radical look at the causes of conflicts reveals the geopolitical role in their occurrence. The study found nine geopolitical factors for religious and religious conflicts that can be generalized to other conflicts of this type in other parts of the world.
